PLYMOUTH/WARSAW BOYS BASKETBALL RIVALRY – PART V – 2016!!

The Plymouth Pilgrims and Warsaw Tigers will renew a very old rivalry that dates back to the early 1920’s.  Both teams joined the newly formed Northern Lakes Conference in 1964, and they have been fierce rivals ever since. PLYMOUTH/WARSAW BOYS BASKETBALL RIVALRY – PART IV – THE PLAYERS

The NLC Championship game will be played tomorrow night at Warsaw High School between the 5-1 Plymouth Pilgrims and the 6-0 Warsaw Tigers.  This game has often times decided the winner of the NLC each year.  Since the NLC began in 1964, Warsaw has won 23 NLC titles while the Pilgrims have captured 14 titles.

PLYMOUTH GYMNASTS HOST LOGANSPORT, WARSAW

The Plymouth Gymnastics team hosted Logansport and Warsaw in a three way meet Wednesday night in the multi-purpose room.  The Pilgrims split losing to Logansport but beating Warsaw. SWIMMERS SPLIT WITH BREMEN, KNOX

The Plymouth men’s swim team traveled to Bremen Wednesday night to face Knox and Bremen.  The Pilgrims defeated Knox 82-75 but lost to Bremen 107-61. Kirk Hettich earned first places in the fly and backstroke.  Daniel Stauffer took first in the breaststroke. Best times were earned by Mitch Rosee in the 200 free, Andrew Jacobs

9th BOYS BASKETBALL DEFEATS ROCHESTER

The Pilgrim freshmen boy’s basketball team hosted and defeated Rochester Wednesday night at The Rock.  The score was 29-24. Leading the Pilgrims to victory were Tim Tremaine with nine points and Evan Zeigler with eight points.  Blake Reed hauled down a game high eight rebounds. The win moves their record to 10-10 on the year.

The Plymouth/Warsaw basketball contest is one of the best known sports rivalry in Northern Indiana.  It normally attracts one of the most attended basketball games during the boy’s basketball season.  This year it will be contested on a Friday night for the first time in approximately 15 years. PLYMOUTH/WARSAW BOYS BASKETBALL RIVALRY – PART II – THE MEDIA

The Plymouth Pilgrims and the Warsaw Tigers will renew their 100+ year rivalry Friday night at Warsaw.  Once again it will be for the NLC championship in both the JV contest and the varsity contest.  The JV contest will get started at 6:15 at the Tiger Den.  The JV Pilgrims are 6-0 in the NLC

PILGRIM FRESHMEN LOSE TO LAPORTE

The Plymouth Pilgrim freshmen basketball team traveled to LaPorte Monday night for a game.  The Pilgrims lost to LaPorte 42-28. Bryce Carmichael lead the Pilgrims with 10 points.  Evan Zeigler also popped for five points. The loss moves their record to 9-10 on the year.  Next up is Rochester.  The Pilgrims host the Zebras Wednesday
