ROCKIE WRESTLERS HOST IHSAA SECTIONAL SATURDAY

Hall of Fame coach Bob Read and the Rockie wrestlers host the IHSAA sectional this Saturday at The Rock.  Wrestling begins at 9:00 AM. The sectional includes Bremen, Caston, CMA, Culver, Rochester, Tippy Valley, Triton, Warsaw, and Wawasee. BOY’S BASKETBALL DOUBLE WEEKEND ON THE ROAD

The Pilgrim boy’s basketball team will hit the road twice this weekend.  Tonight the Pilgrims travel to Middlebury to take on the Northridge Raiders.  Saturday the Pilgrims will travel to the oldest existing high school gym still being used for varsity sports as the take on the Mishawaka Cavemen at The Cave. PILGRIM SWIMMER KIRK HETTICH QUALIFIES FOR NLC FINALS

Pilgrim swimmer Kirk Hettich qualified for the NLC finals Saturday in two events.  He will swim the 200 individual medley and the 100 fly.  Swimming begins at Concord High School at 9:00 AM.

LADY PILGRIMS BEAT NORTHRIDGE – SECTIONAL DRAW UP NEXT

It was senior night at The Rock and the Plymouth Lady Pilgrim seniors did not disappoint.  The Pilgrims picked up an NLC win over Northridge 50-45. The Pilgrims lead throughout much of the contest but was challenged late by the Raiders.  The Pilgrims jumped out to an 11-0 lead before the Raiders dented the scoreboard. 

LADY PILGRIMS BEAT SB CLAY – HUNTER STEVENS BREAKS RECORD

The Plymouth Lady Pilgrims traveled to South Bend Tuesday night and defeated the Clay Colonials 49-34.  The Pilgrims took the lead early in the second quarter and never relinquished it. Senior Hunter Stevens scored 15 points and pulled down five rebounds.  She broke the school record for career points previously held by Elaine Hessel Sommers

PLYMOUTH SWIMMERS WIN AT TIPPECANOE VALLEY

The Plymouth boy’s swim team won a close meet Monday night at Tippecanoe Valley 75-66. Devin Rogers won the 200 yard freestyle.  Kirk Hettich won the 200 yard medley and the 100 yard butterfly.  Colin Deon won the diving event.  Jacob Hildebrand won the 100 yard breast stroke. PILGRIM GYMNASTS WIN AT WEST NOBLE

The Plymouth gymnastics team traveled to West Noble and squeaked out a win against the Chargers 88.7- 87.175. Senior Cassie Quissell finished first in the All-Around.  Junior Karly Gruett finished fifth while freshman Bailey Eveland finished sixth. The Pilgrim gymnasts are in action again Saturday at the Western Invitational which begins at 12:00.

PILGRIM HOOPSTER HUNTER STEVENS DRAWS CLOSER TO SCHOOL RECORD

Lady Pilgrim basketball player Hunter Stevens is about to reach where no Lady Pilgrim has gone before!  During her four year varsity career at Plymouth High School, Hunter has scored 988 points.  The school record is currently held by Elaine Hessel Sommers (Class of 2007) with 992 points. LADY PILGRIMS RUN PAST WAWASEE

The Plymouth Lady Pilgrims hosted the Wawasee Warriors Saturday night at The Rock and came away with 51-34 victory.  The Pilgrims trailed 19-15 at halftime but outscored the Warriors 36-15 in the second half to secure the victory. Senior Hunter Stevens lead the Pilgrims in scoring with 18 points.  Senior Haley Harrell scored 15 points

ROCKIE GRAPPLERS IN NLC

The Plymouth Rockie wrestlers traveled to Goshen Saturday to paticipate in the NLC championship.  The Rockies finished with a second place finish behind Elkhart Memorial.  Memorial scored 239.5 points while the Rockies finished with 232.5 points. Winning championship matches for the Rockies included Zane DeVault (113), Osman Solis (132), and Marcos Rodriguez (160).  Finishing second
