The Lady Pilgrims travelled to LaPorte to take on the Slicers this past Tuesday night. Both JV and Varsity came away with a win by the scores of 46-26 and 40-31 respectively.

The varsity team traded baskets with LaPorte early, but a second quarter explosion would put them up 24-16 going into halftime.

The Lady Pilgrims did a better job of limiting turnovers and moving the basketball on offense. The Lady Pilgrims also had great three point defense holding LaPorte to no made threes the entire game.

LaPorte would come out and outscore the Lady Pilgrims in the third, but the Lady Pilgrims would finish them off in the fourth to earn the victory.

Janus led all scorers with sixteen, Gault had nine, and Dragani put in eight.

The win puts the varsity team at 7-8. Next up is a home game against Concord this Saturday at The Rock. JV tip is at noon with varsity to follow.

The JV team also came away with a win. It was a slow start for the Lady Pilgrims as they trailed by four after the first, but a big second quarter putting in sixteen and holding LaPorte to five gave them the lead going into halftime.

The second half started with the same intensity and scoring output as the second as the Lady Pilgrims built a sizable and never looked back. The defense continued to be strong forcing LaPorte to have twenty turnovers.

Krupp and Riddle both had fourteen. Winkle put in five.

After the game last night the JV team is 8-3.
