Pilgrims News · PILGRIM JV BASKETBALL FALL AT HOME TO MARIAN

The Plymouth Pilgrim JV Basketball team faced off against the Marian Knights at The Rock.

This was an opponent change due to Tippy Valley’s JV team being in quarantine.

Neither team could score early, but Hall started off the scoring with a drive to the basket.

Marian tough zone and full court pressure caused the Pilgrims to be patient on offense. The Pilgrims were able to tack on another bucket to finish the quarter with Marian being up 6-4.

The Pilgrim picked up their defense in the second quarter and held Marian scoreless. A layup and a three by Walters gave the Pilgrims a 9-6 lead going into halftime.

The scoring picked up in the third quarter as team continued to trade baskets. A Weidner three as the clock expired gave the Pilgrims the lead by one going into the final seven minutes by the score of 19-18.

The fourth quarter the intensity picked up, but Marian hit some threes to extend a lead and take the win 30-26.

Walters led the Pilgrims with seven.

The lost puts the Pilgrim JV at 3-6 for the year. Next up is an away game at Concord on 1/9/21. Tip off is set for 6:15 PM.
