Pilgrims News · VARSITY VOLLEYBALL COMPETES AT CONCORD INVITE


The Pilgrim Varsity Volleyball team competed at the eight team Concord Invite Saturday.  The team went 3-1 on the day finishing in 3rd place.

The day started with a revenge match against NLC opponent Northwood.  Northwood had defeated the Lady Pilgrims earlier in the week in a five game set.  Saturday the Pilgrims won 25-13, 25-21.  They fell in three games to New Prairie 25-17, 20-25, 13-15.  They then defeated West Noble 25-15, 25-20 to finish pool play at 2-1.

In the 3rd place game, the Lady Pilgrims downed East Noble in two games.  The final scores were 25-21, 25-16.  New Prairie won the tournament.

Chloe Holten and Maddy Figg lead the blockers with four each.  Miranda German and Figg lead in kills with 31 and 30 respectively.  Taylor Delp had seven aces while Sara Hunter and Figg had six aces each.  Ellie Jones lead in digs with 54 while Figg added 41 digs.  Clare Sheedy lead the Pilgrims in assists with 87.

The 3-1 record on the day moves the Pilgrims to 9-7 on the year.  Next up is a Thursday night home match against rival Warsaw.  The JV match begins at 5:30.
