Pilgrims News · PILGRIM TENNIS COMPETES IN TWO TOURNAMENTS


The Plymouth Pilgrim JV and Varsity Tennis teams each competed in two different tournaments over the weekend.  The varsity team competed in an eight team tournament at Lafayette Jeff while the JV team hosted their own eight team tournament at Mary Beth Hunter Tennix Complex in Centennial Park.

The varsity finished in 4th place with 21 points.  #1 Singles Drew Harrell finished in 7th place downing Lafayette Jeff in the 7th place match 6-0, 7-6.

#2 singles Bennett Christy finished in 7th place winning his 7th place match 6-4, 6-4.  #3 singles Carter Sndyer finished in 2nd place.  He defeated Logansport and Crawfordsville before falling in the championship match to Lafayette Harrison.

#1 doubles Matt Manzuk/Easton Strain finished in 3rd place.  They defeated Logansport in their 3rd place match.  #2 doubles Liam Fort/Logan Sniadecki also finished in 3rd place downing Logansport in their final match.

Next up for the Varsity Pilgrims is an NLC match at Mishawaka.  Scheduled start time is 5:00.

The JV Pilgrims also finished in 4th place scoring nine points.  At #1 singles, Martin Baca finished in 4th place falling to his Northridge opponent in the final match.

At #2 singles, James Kruyer and Brock Jensen split their play finishing in 7th place.  Kruyer won the final match over his Northridge opponent.  At #3 singles Caleb Bowling beat his Peru opponent to finish in 3rd place.

At #1 doubles, Cam Shively and Ryan Gadziola finished in 5th place while #2 doubles Jack Yoder, Davis Newcomb, Jacob Stone, and Jake Payne split play and finished in 5th place.
