FINALLY!!  It has been a long time in coming but our Varsity Plymouth Lady Rockie Soccer team took down the Northridge Lady Raiders.  The final at Don Kindt Soccerplex was 5-1.

The Lady Rockies dominated the Raiders through 80 minutes.  Northridge only had four shots on goal and no corner kicks during this NLC contest.  The Lady Rockies took 21 shots with 16 of those being on goal.  The Rockies also had a goal taken away on a corner kick as it was ruled the Northridge goalie was bumped on the incoming Julia Kinney kick.

Aubrey Vervynckt converted a free kick midway through the first half to put the Rockies on the board.  Five minutes later, Senior Lindsay Janus took a pass from Amber Schrameyer to put the Rockies up 2-0 at halftime.

Vervynckt would score again less than two minutes into the second half.   Janus got her second goal of the game seven minutes into the second half on a pass from Madison Stiles.  The goal was on the far side wing that Janus hooked into the goal passed the outstretched Raider goalie.  Midway through the second half, Vervynckt completed her hat trick with her third goal of the game on a pass from Claudia Marohn.

The win moves the Rockies to 2-1 in the NLC and 7-1 overall.  Next up for the Rockies is against a possible sectional foe.  The Glenn Falcons come to town Monday night for a varsity match only.  Start time is set for 6:00.

The JV Rockies picked up a win in the preliminary contest 2-0 over Northridge.  Tallie Hundt and Tallulah Gault had the Rockie goals.
