The Plymouth Lady Pilgrim Basketball team took their show on the road for the second time this week.  And for the second time they came home victorious as they took down the New Prairie Lady Cougars 56-34.

A seemingly tight game became a rout in the fourth quarter as our Pilgrims outscored New Prairie 18-2 in the final period.  Heading into the final period, the Pilgrims only lead 38-32.

Leading the way for the Pilgrims were three seniors.  Claire Tanner popped for 19 points while teammates Alaina Clady and Sydni Weir added 12 and 11 points respectively.  Tanner hit a trio of three pointers Thursday night.  She also added 10-12 at the free throw line, two assists and four rebounds.  Clady and Weir also grabbed four rebounds each while Sydni also picked up three steals.

The win moves the Pilgrims to 2-0 on the young season.  Next week the competition gets a little thicker as the Pilgrims are on the road for two more games.  Tuesday they head to Mishawaka Marian to take on the Lady Knights.  Marian was ranked #4 in the 3A preseason poll.  Saturday the Lady Pilgrims are on the road at Michigan City.  Action Tuesday at Marian begins at 6:00 while Saturday at Michigan City begins at 12:30 PM (EST).

The JV Pilgrims opened their 2019-2020 season with a win over New Prairie 56-29.  Taylor Delp lead the Pilgrim attack with 15 points.  Teammates Sara Hunter and Madie Mann added 12 and 11 points respectively.  Kaylee Dragani hit for nine points and added eight assists.  Hunter grabbed nine rebounds while Delp had seven rebounds.

The win makes the Pilgrim JV 1-0.  They are scheduled to be the preliminary contest both games next week.
