It does not seem possible, but the last home regular season varsity football game will be played at The Rockpile Friday night.  It will be Senior Night as the Rockies host the Goshen RedHawks.

Goshen enters the NLC contest with an 0-5 record in the NLC and 1-6 overall.  The Rockies enter the contest with a 5-0 record in the NLC and 6-1 overall.  Goshen’s one win this year came during Week 1 when they defeated Fairfield 20-14.  They have lost six consecutive games.  The Rockies lost their season opener to East Noble 34-31.  They have won six consecutive games.

Goshen is a Class 5A school in Indiana Football while the Rockies are a Class 4A school.  The class is based on the number of students enrolled in each school.  There are 34 schools in Class 5A of Indiana and there are 62 schools in Class 4A of Indiana football.

The Sagarin Ratings is a system put in place by an Indiana University math professor to rate Indiana High School Football teams around the state.  The ratings are based on strength of schedule and by how many points a team wins a game or loses a game.  He uses this data along with mathematical formulas to rate teams in Indiana football.

Goshen is ranked 33rd in their class of 34 schools.  They have a Sagarin Rating of 32.79.  Goshen is ranked 206th out of 321 schools in Indiana that field football teams.

The Rockies are ranked 7th in their class of 62 schools in Class 4A.  They have a rating of 73.35.  The Rockies are ranked 50th in the state out of a total of 321 schools that have football in Indiana.

The weather forecast at The Rockpile for Friday is not favorable for a good night.  There is a 70% chance of rain and the wind out of the West at 13 MPH.  The temperature is expected to be in the low 50’s and dropping quickly as the night progresses.  Sounds like Rockie Weather!!  Come out and enjoy Senior Night and the game!
