Plymouth Athletics and Swan Lake Golf Course were the hosts for IHSAA Regional Golf action Thursday. Play began Thursday at 8:00 AM and 108 golfers completed play at approximately 3:00. A total of 18 teams along with 18 individuals maneuvered the 18 hole Black Course at Swan Lake. Six different sectionals fed into the Regional. The top three finishing teams move on to the State Championship match along with the top five individuals without a team.
The winner of the 2019 Plymouth Regional was Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger with a team score of 306. They were closely followed by Penn with a 307. Also qualifying for the State Finals was 3rd place Warsaw with a 318.
Johnny Filler of Bishop Dwenger and Adam DeLong of Homestead tied for medalist honors each shooting a 72. Filler won the 1 hole playoff.
Bryce Carmichael of Plymouth was the only Pilgrim that qualified for Regional action. Bryce shot a +2 38 on the front nine. He followed that up with a +4 40 on the back nine finishing with a 78 on the day.
