Pilgrim Baseball hosted #7 3A New Prairie Saturday night at Bill Nixon Field.  The Pilgrims were defeated by the Cougars 8-2 in a rain-filled evening of baseball.

The Pilgrims started the evening on a sour note as expected starting pitcher Mitch Dobuck was not able to go.  Thomas Dolan, who beat Hamilton Southeastern last Saturday, was asked to take the hill.  He went six innings giving up one earned run while striking out four.  Joe Barron pitched the 7th inning.

Ezra Winkle lead the Pilgrim offense with a pair of hits and an RBI.  Winkle and his brother Ivan, each had a double.

The loss drops the Pilgrims to 13-8 on the year.  The Pilgrims have five games scheduled this week all on the road.  Monday they travel to Northwood, Tuesday they head down to Culver Academy, and Wednesday they finish the NLC season at Northridge.  Saturday they play a doubleheader at McCutcheon as they face the Mavericks in Game 1 then face #1 4A Crown Point in Game 2.

The JV Pilgrims lost to New Prairie 9-5.  Caden Weidner, Cam Weidner and Skyler Aker each had a pair of hits to pace the offense.  Caleb Deacon and Tanner Feece pitched for the Pilgrims.
