The Lady Pilgrim Tennis team hosted their annual varsity tennis tournament Saturday at Mary Beth Hunter Tennis Complex in Centennial Park Saturday morning.  The tournament featured teams from Mishawaka Marian, Crown Point, Fairfield, Peru, Columbia City, Michigan City, and Triton.

The Pilgrims won the eight team tournament by scoring 35 points.  Mishawaka Marian finished second and scored 27 points.

The Pilgrims won all the singles matches on the day.  Junior Kyla Heckaman bested her Marian opponent in the championship match.  Miranda German also defeated her Marian opponent in the championship match while Aubrey Vervynckt also defeated her Marian opponent in her championship match.

The #1 doubles team of Mary Beatty and Audie Plothow finished 2nd in the tournament.  They lost their championship match to Fairfield.  The #2 doubles team of Alaina Clady and Sydni Weir finished 3rd in the tournament.  They fell to the eventual winners from Crown Point in their semi final match.  They defeated Marian in their 3rd place match.

The Pilgrims head to Bremen Monday to finish their match previously stopped by rain last week.  Start time is set for 4:30.
