The Plymouth Pilgrim Baseball team was hitting on all cylinders Thursday night at Bill Nixon Field in Centennial Park.  The Pilgrim 9 downed the Triton Trojans 23-0 in a non-conference varsity baseball game.

The Pilgrims scored early and often in the run shortened contest.  They scored five runs in each the 1st, 3rd, and 4th innings.  They scored eight runs in the 2nd inning.

11 different Pilgrims had at least one hit on the night.  The Pilgrims had a total of 17 hits.  Cole Filson and Grant Dexter lead the hit parade with three hits each.  Jesus Luva and Ezra Winkle had two hits each.  Bryan Ramirez, Tim Tremaine, Matt Dobuck, Jackson Lee, Nick Spier, Ethan Oliver, and Ivan Winkle each had a hit.  Dexter had four RBI’s and Filson added thee.   Spier scored four runs for the Pilgrims.

Joe Barron started on the mound for the Pilgrims and went three innings.  He struck out six Trojan hitters in picking up his first win in the 2019 season.  Grant Dexter and Nick Spier each went an inning striking out a total of five hitters between them.

The win moves the Pilgrims to 4-1 on the year.  The NLC begins play next week, and the Pilgrims play their first two conference games at home.  They host Elkhart Memorial and Concord next week on Monday and Wednesday.  Both games are scheduled to start at 5:30.
