The Plymouth Pilgrim Baseball team played their neighbor to the north, the Laville Lancers, Saturday at Bill Nixon Field.  It was not a masterpiece of a victory but it was a win as the Pilgrims scored two runs in their last at bat to squeeze by the Lancers 9-8.

The Pilgrims scored in five of the seven innings of the contest.  The Pilgrims had 14 hits on the day with Cole Filson having a fine offensive day with four hits, one RBI, and he also scored three runs.  Ezra Winkle added three hits and an RBI.  Jesus Luva had two knocks and and an RBI.  Thomas Dolan had two hits including the walk off single that scored the tying and winning runs in the 7th inning.

Pitching is where the Pilgrims struggled on the day as they issued 11 walks and hit three Lancer batters on the day.  They held Laville to only six hits.  Jacob Deacon got the last two outs in the top of the 7th inning to earn the victory.

Next up for the Pilgrims is a road trip to Rochester Tuesday.  The 1st pitch is scheduled for 5:00.
