Pilgrims News · PILGRIM BASKETBALL HOSTS TIGERS FRIDAY NIGHT

The Plymouth Pilgrim Boy’s Basketball team will be hosting the Warsaw Tigers Friday night at The Rock in their usual end-of-the-year NLC Battle.  But weather wreaked havoc with the schedule last week with both teams having to postpone conference games.  Warsaw was scheduled to host Elkhart Memorial last week while the Pilgrims were scheduled to host Goshen last week.

The Memorial/Warsaw game has been rescheduled for 2/19/19.  The Goshen @ Plymouth reschedule date is currently tentative but a reschedule date should be announced early next week.

As usual the Warsaw/Plymouth game has huge conference ramifications.  Warsaw is currently unbeaten and sits atop the NLC with a 5-0 record.  The Pilgrims and Elkhart Memorial are close behind at 4-1.  Overall Warsaw is 11-4 while the Pilgrims check in at 13-4.

Warsaw is lead in scoring by a pair of 6-4 seniors.  Neil Groninger and Jaylen Reese average 16 and 15 points per game respectively.  5-11 junior guards Blake Marsh and Wyatt Amiss both average 14 points per game.  6-0 senior Trevor Rumple and 6-4 sophomore Luke Adamiec both average over 10 points per game.

The man in the middle for the Tigers has been down for the last two games for Warsaw.  6-8 senior Tyler Metzinger is questionable for tomorrow night.  He is hitting for 13 PPG.

The Pilgrims are lead in scoring by seniors Clay Hilliard and Cole Filson hitting for 19 and 14 points per game each.  Sophomore Jake Reichard hits for 12 PPG.

Warsaw is hitting for 52.5 PPG this year while giving up just 42 PPG.  The Pilgrims offensively are hitting 56.5 PPG while giving up 53 PPG.

JV tip off Friday night at The Rock is set for 6:15 followed by the Varsity game around 7:45.  It is Homecoming and Dance Marathon at The Rock Friday night so there are other attractions that might interest you also.  AM1050 WTCA along with Max98.3 will be on hand to broadcast the game if you are home bound.
