Pilgrims News · PILGRIMS HOST DOUBLE HOME WEEKEND

The Plymouth Pilgrim Boy’s Basketball team will host a home double weekend this Friday and Saturday night at The Rock.  Friday night the Pilgrims get back into NLC play hosting the Elkhart Memorial Crimson Chargers.  This will be the last time ever the Pilgrims do this as Elkhart Memorial will no longer function as a separate high school from Elkhart Central.  In two years they will be combining together to form Elkhart High School.

Elkhart Memorial comes in with a record of 1-0 in NLC play and 7-1 overall.  They are currently ranked #5 in the State of Indiana in 4A.  They have defeated Elkhart Christian, Elkhart Central, Mishawaka, LaPorte, Portage, Concord, and Penn.  Their only loss was to Valparaiso.

Senior Hank Smith is the leading scorer for the Crimson Chargers at 18.3 PPG.  Trey Galliope and Darjon Lewis are scoring at 9.4 and 8.6 PPG respectively.  Javon Forester is hauling down 5.4 RPG while Lewis leads in assists at 3.1 per game.

Tippecanoe Valley come to The Rock Saturday night.  They come in with a record of 5-5.  That will change before Saturday night as they host Northfield in a conference game Friday night.  Valley has wins against Argos, Oregon-Davis, Peru, Whitko, and Culver.  Their losses have been to Warsaw, Knox, Glenn, Laville, and Columbia City.

Tanner Trippiedi leads the Vikings in scoring at 11.8 PPG.  Cam Parker is close behind at 10.3 PPG.

The Pilgrims come in with a 7-3 record coming off their 1st Source Bank Holiday Tourney championship.  The Pilgrims have wins against Glenn, New Prairie, Triton, Northwood, Whitko, Jimtown, and Peru.  Their losses have been to South Bend Riley, South Bend Adams, and Winamac.

Clay Hilliard leads the Pilgrims at 18.9 PPG.  Cole Filson is hitting for 11.6 PPG while Jake Reichard hits for 10.8 PPG.  Filson and Reichard are each grabbing over three rebounds per game while Filson leads in assists with nearly three per game.

JV start time both nights is set for 6:15.  AM1050 WTCA will cover both games Friday and Saturday night if you are unable to attend.  Their broadcast will begin some time after 7:30 both nights.
