Indiana University in Bloomington was the setting for the IHSAA State Finals for Girl’s Track on Friday. The Pilgrims had two members of their track team competing.
Junior Cece Robinson competed for the Pilgrims in the shot put for the second consecutive year. Cece finished in 23rd position out of the total of 28 throwers. Cece’s best throw was 36 ‘ 6 “. This was nearly three feet short of her winning throw in the regional last week at Kokomo.
Pilgrim freshman Claudia Marohn competed in the high jump for the Lady Pilgrims. Last week at the regional, Claudia jumped five inches higher than her previous best clearing 5 ‘3” to qualify for the State Finals.
The opening height for the jumpers was 5-0, and Claudia and two other competitors failed to clear it. The winning jump for the event was 5-11.
