The Pilgrim Baseball team traveled to Crown Saturday to take on the Bulldogs and the McCutcheon Mavericks.  The Pilgrims took down the hosts 6-4 in Game 1 but fell to McCutcheon 4-3 in nine innings in Game 2.

The Pilgrims fell behind 4-0 against Crown Point after two innings before rallying late.  The Pilgrims hit for a four spot in the 6th inning to take the lead.

Cole Filson and Cam Dennie each had a pair of RBI’s to lead the Pilgrims to victory.  Tim Tremaine went six innings on the mound to gain the victory.  Jesus Luva pitched the seventh to gain the save.

In Game 2 vs McCutcheon, the Pilgrims lead 2-0 heading into the seventh inning.  The Mavs plated two runs to send it into extra innings.  The Pilgrims got one in the 8th but the Mavs countered with one of their own.  McCutcheon won it with a run in the 9th inning.

Dennie, Noah Pesak, and Matt Dobuck each had a pair of hits to lead the Pilgrim offense.  Luvs started Game 2 on the mound going 4.2 innings.  Jacob Deacon was on the mound when McCutcheon had the 9th inning walk-off win.

The split puts the Pilgrims at 16-10 on the year.  They host Knox on Monday starting at 7:00 PM to finish their regular season.
