Pilgrims News · TENNIS WEATHERED OUT SATURDAY; PLAYS INDOORS

The Plymouth Pilgrim Tennis team was scheduled to host their annual eight team tournament Saturday at Mary Beth Hunter Tennis Complex in Centennial Park but Mother Nature had other plans.  Rain, wind, and cold cancelled the event.  But that did not stop the girls from playing.  They quickly scheduled the South Bend Racket Club and got together with some local teams to play.

They started the day playing the Penn Lady Kingsmen.  The Pilgrims lost their first match of the year 4-1.  Cortni Cook got the only win at #1 singles for the Pilgrims 3-6, 6-4, and 6-1.

They faced Fairfield in their second match and won 3-2.  Miranda German won at #3 singles 6-4, 6-1.  #1 Doubles team McKenzie Scheetz/Leah Smith won 6-1, 6-1 and the #2 Doubles team of Mary Beatty/Audie Plothow  won 6-1, 6-2.

The split moves their record to 4-1 on the year.  The girls open NLC play Tuesday @ Warsaw.
