Pilgrims News · PILGRIMS TRAVEL TO WARSAW FRIDAY – PLAYING FOR NLC CHAMPIONSHIP

The Plymouth Pilgrims will be playing for an NLC Championship Friday night at Warsaw.  After dropping their first two NLC contests this year, the Pilgrims have reeled off four straight wins setting up the game for tomorrow night.  Northridge and Elkhart Memorial are also tied atop the NLC with 4-2 records.

The Pilgrims enter the game with a seven game winning streak.  Before last Friday’s loss to Elkhart Memorial, Warsaw also had a seven game winning streak.  The Pilgrims are 12-6 on the year while Warsaw is 10-8.

The Warsaw/Plymouth series dates back to the 1913-1914 season when they played for the first time.  The Pilgrims won that opener in Warsaw 33-10 over the Tigers.  Warsaw leads the overall series 82-56.  Warsaw won last year at The Rock 51-40.

Warsaw is being lead by leading scorer Nolan Groninger.  The junior guard is averaging over 13 PPG.  Other contributors include junior Tyler Metzinger,  sophomore Brian Elliott and senior Zach Riley all hitting for 7 PPG.

The Pilgrims are being lead by junior Clay Hilliard hitting for 18 PPG.  He is backed by seniors Kadin McCrammer and Garrett Tharp hitting for nine and eight points per game respectively.

JV tip-off at the Tiger Den is scheduled for 6:15 Friday night.  AM1050 WTCA will be covering the game if you are unable to attend.  Their broadcast will begin at approximately 7:30 PM.
