The Plymouth Lady Pilgrim basketball team picked up their first win of the year Thursday night at New Prairie.  The Pilgrims won 42-20.

Defense was the name of the game the first half for the Pilgrims.  The Lady Cougars were only able to dent the scoreboard from the free throw line.  In fact they did not get their first field goal of the game until the 4:02 mark of the third quarter.

With the Pilgrims leading 24-2 at halftime, the Pilgrims were able to play everyone on the bench.  Nine players were able to score for the Pilgrims.  Senior Allie Andrews lead the Pilgrims with 12 points including 4-7 from the three point line.  Junior Kacee Peters added five points and five rebounds.

The win moves the Pilgrims to 1-1 on the year.  Next week the Pilgrims travel to Mishawaka Marian Tuesday for a varsity game only at 7:00 PM and to Michigan City next Saturday for a 12:30 JV start.

The JV Pilgrims moved their record to 2-0 this year with a win over New Prairie 53-3.  Sydni Weir put in 15 points while Emily LaFree added 14 points.  Alaina Clady had eight points and five rebounds.
