Multiple Teams · ROCKIES FALL IN 2017 FINALE

The Plymouth Rockies football team finished their 2017 regular season traveling to Nappanee to face the Northwood Panthers.  Northwood dominated the Rockies 30-6.

Northwood got on the board early in the second quarter with a TD and converted their 2-point conversion to lead 8-0.  The Rockies answered back as Braxton Bennitt caught a 19 yard touchdown pass from Cole Filson.  The extra point was no good but the Rockies only trailed 8-6.

It would get no closer as the Rockies failed to dent the end zone throughout the rest of the contest.  Northwood would score 16 more points in the second quarter to lead 24-6 at halftime.  They would add a second half TD to make the final 30-6.

The loss drops the Rockies to 4-3 in the NLC and 6-3 overall.  Next up is a Round One Sectional match-up with a familiar foe.  The Rockies host Week 1 opponent East Noble Friday night at The Rockpile.

The Rockies defeated East Noble 22-18.  Tickets for the sectional contest will go on sale in the athletic office starting Monday morning.  Kickoff for the sectional match is set for 7:30.
