Benji Nixon is listed at 5-9 and 160 pounds on the Rockie Football Roster.  Some teams would say he would be too small to play football.  But he played like a King on Homecoming Friday night at the Rockpile leading the Rockies to a 41-21 NLC victory over the Goshen RedHawks.

Nixon scored four touchdowns, had a two-point conversion, gained over 300 all-purpose yards, and probably did the laundry after the game.  He continually slipped through defenders earning extra yards on nearly every play he was involved with.

The Rockies trailed at halftime 21-14 when Nixon decided it was time for the Rockies to create some distance between them and Goshen.  He scored on runs of 59 yards, nine yards, and another nine yard run along with a two point conversion to lead the Rockies on a third quarter charge that gave them a 35-21 lead heading into the final quarter.

Braxton Bennitt added a two yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter to finish the night making the final 41-21 in favor of the Rockies.

The win moves the Rockies to 4-2 in the NLC and 6-2 overall.  The Rockies finish the regular season next Friday heading to Nappanee to take on the Northwood Panthers.  Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
