The Plymouth Lady soccer 2017 season came to an end Tuesday night at Don Kindt Soccerplex as the girls lost their opening sectional game to Glenn. The final score was 3-1.
Glenn lead 2-0 at halftime before the Rockies got on the board in the second half. With 19 minutes left in the contest, senior Alli Andrews scored off a long free kick. The ball was high over the Glenn goalies’ hands. The goalie had her hands wrapped around the ball to make the save but it squirted through allowing the Rockies to get on the board. The goal cut the Glenn lead to 2-1.
With four minutes remaining in the contest, it looked like the Rockies would tie things up as junior Madison Smith got loose in front of the goal. But her tying goal attempt went just wide, and the Rockies would remain a goal behind.
Glenn would score just a few seconds later to make the final 3-1 in favor of the Falcons.
The Rockies end their season with a 4-9-4 record.
Sectional play will continue Thursday as SB St Joe takes on Glenn at 5:00 followed by SB Clay and Mishawaka Marian.
