The Plymouth Baseball team won their opening game of their own baseball sectional Saturday afternoon at Bill Nixon Field. The Pilgrims destroyed the South Bend Adams Eagles 14 – 0 in five innings.
Cam Dennie pitched a two hit shutout to pace the Pilgrims on the mound. Dennie struck out seven, walked three, and threw 82 pitches in his complete game effort.
Jeremy Drudge lead the 12 hit Pilgrim attack with three hits including a home run, double, and four RBI’s. Dennie and Ezra Winkle also added two hits a piece for the Pilgrims.
The win moves the Pilgrims to 14 – 13 on the year. Semi-final action in the IHSAA Sectional is set for Memorial Day Monday. Game One at 11:00 AM will feature Mishawaka against LaPorte. Game Two will start at approximately 1:30 with South Bend Riley facing off against the Pilgrims. The two winners will go at it for the sectional championship Monday night at 7:00.
