The Plymouth Pilgrim Baseball team lost a heartbreaker in NLC play Monday night to Warsaw. The Pilgrims gave up three runs in the seventh inning to fall 3 – 2.
Pitcher Cam Dennie was cruising along with a one hit shutout leading 2 – 0 going into the seventh inning when the bottom fell out. Warsaw used two hits, a walk, and two Pilgrim errors to plate three runs sending the Pilgrims to defeat.
Jesus Luva was the only Pilgrim with multiple hits on the night smacking run scoring singles in the fourth and sixth innings.
The loss drops the Pilgrims to 5 – 5 in the NLC and 10 – 8 overall. Next up the Pilgrims host Goshen Wednesday night at Bill Nixon Field. Game time is set for 5:30.
The JV Pilgrims also fell to Warsaw 15 – 5. Joe Barron was the starting and losing pitcher for the Pilgrims giving up six earned runs in the first inning. Tim Tremaine, Kam Vanlue, and Devon Schoff each collected two hits for the Pilgrims.
The loss drops the NLC record to 6 – 2 and 6 – 6 overall.
