The Plymouth Lady Pilgrim basketball team tested the water in their first NLC contest Saturday night at The Rock.  The Lady Redskins defeated the Pilgrims 61-45.

Goshen broke open a close contest halfway through the second quarter.  Goshen outscored the Pilgrims 24-8 in the second quarter to take a 39-18 lead into the halftime break.

Coach Dave Duncan challenged his girls at halftime to play better which they did.  They outscored Goshen 12-7 in the third quarter to cut the Goshen lead down to 46-30.  The Pilgrims got no closer than 10 points in the final quarter and Goshen won the NLC opener for both teams.

Nicole Horvath lead the Plymouth scoring with 12 points and five rebounds.  Alli Andrews and Halle Reichard each popped for seven points.  The loss moves their record to 6-3 on the year.

The JV Pilgrims kept their perfect record intact at 9-0 with a struggling win over Goshen 23-20.  The Pilgrims shot 10% from the field for the game.  Cece Robinson lead the Pilgrims with eight points and three rebounds.

The Pilgrims will be in action again Wednesday when they travel to SB Washington.  JV tip-off is set for 6:00.
