The Plymouth Pilgrim softball team scored three runs in the first inning and made it hold up as they defeated Goshen Monday night in Centennial Park 4-2. It was the first NLC win of the year for the Pilgrims.
Mimi Southwell supplied the big hit in the first inning as she stroked a two out two run single to stake the Pilgrims to the early lead. She also supplied a double on the night. Hayley Brown picked up the win in the circle.
Bre Martin also added two hits. Jillian Smith extended her hitting streak to eight games.
The Pilgrim JV team also prevailed in eight innings 17-16 as Audrey Himes drove in the game winner. The win moves the JV record to 7-3 and 3-1 in the NLC.
The win moves the Varsity Pilgrims to 4-8 overall and 1-3 in the NLC. The Pilgrims travel to Wawasee Wednesday for their next game.
