The Plymouth Pilgrims defeated the South Bend Riley Wildcats Tuesday night in South Bend 70-58. The Pilgrims trailed 23-19 after one period but outscored Riley 20-11 in the second quarter and never lost the lead after that. The turning point in the game came halfway through the second quarter as the Pilgrims turned a six point deficit into a three point lead. At 5:45 of the second quarter the Pilgrims trailed by six. Back to back to back three pointers by Reis Yoder, Cam Eveland, and again by Yoder gave the Pilgrims the lead by three at the 5:02 mark.
Tyler England lead the Pilgrims with 25 points and eight rebounds. Josh Anders had 14 points, Nick Felke had 12 points and 6 assists, and Eveland 11 points. As a team, the Pilgrims held Riley leading scorer Reontre Lawrence three points under his scoring average.
The Pilgrims will be in action again next Tuesday at the Westview Shoot-Out. The Pilgrims will battle the host Warriors at 1:00. They will finish the day by playing the Lakeland Lakers at 6:00.
