Multiple Teams · PILGRIMS TRAVEL TO SOUTH BEND RILEY TUESDAY NIGHT


The Plymouth Pilgrims travel to South Bend Riley Tuesday night to take on the Wildcats.  Riley defeated the Pilgrims in the semi-final contest of the South Bend Washington sectional last year 51-46.  The Pilgrims are 9-26 overall against Riley.  Their last win against the Wildcats came during the 1981-82 season when the Pilgrims pulled out a 57-55 victory in the semi-final contest of the South Bend Holiday Tourney.

South Bend Riley comes into Tueday night’s contest with a record of 3-3.  They have defeated Northridge, Elkhart Central, and Mishawaka.  Their losses have been to Michigan City, Merrillville, and South Bend Adams.

Coach Mark Johnson has been at Riley for 13 years.  This is his 31st year overall as a head coach.  His career record is 370-301.  He also was the head coach at Cass and South Bend LaSalle.

Riley may start as many as three freshmen, one sophomore, and one junior.  The Wildcats are lead by junior Reontre Lawrence.

The Pilgrims are 4-2 on the year after their Friday night defeat to Northwood.  Tyler England lead the Pilgrims with 22 points in the loss to the Panthers.
