The St. Joe Indians proved to be too much for the Pilgrims Tuesday night in South Bend. The Indians weathered a second half uprising by the Pilgrims to secure a 60-55 win.
The Pilgrims lead 14-13 with six minutes remaining in the first half when St. Joe went on an 18-3 run to close out the half and lead 31-16. The Pilgrims pushed back lead by junior guard Cam Eveland in the third quarter to narrow the gap to 37-32 St. Joe heading into the fourth quarter. Two times the Pilgrims narrowed the gap to one possession in the fourth quarter but could get no closer.
The Pilgrims were lead by Tyler England with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Eveland finished with 11 points, seven rebounds, two assists, four deflections, and two steals.
The Pilgrims finish their road trip Friday night at the Tig-Arena in Peru. JV start time is set for 6:00.
