Plymouth won both rounds of their IHSAA tournament matches last night. The boy’s tennis team traveled to Culver last night to compete in the 1st round of the IHSAA regional against NLC rival Warsaw. Rain dampenend the evening so they had to move inside to play. With only five courts available, the Pilgrims had to wait for the Peru/CMA match to be completed. The Pilgrims finished Tuesday night after 10:00 PM but prevailed over Warsaw 3-2. They will face off against host CMA in the championship round of the regional today. Play is scheduled to begin at 5:00. Weatherwise, it should be a great late afternoon/early evening to watch tennis. The courts are located on the north side of State Road 10 across from the CMA campus. The Eagles defeated the Pilgrims last Monday 3-2 in their last regular season match.
In girl’s soccer sectional play, the Rockies defeated Wawasee 2-0. Stacy Diaz and Bailey Brown scored the Rockie goals. The Rockies peppered the Wawasee goal with 32 shots but only two dented the net. The Rockies continue in sectional play at Warsaw Thursday night at 7:00 PM as they play CGA.
The boy’s soccer team opens sectional play tonight here at Don Kindt Soccerplex. They will be playing Warsaw at 7:00 PM. The Rockies and Tigers tied at 3-3 early in the season when they played.
